Remodeling For You
As we head into the holiday season, many people are evaluating what they spend and when. If you’re weighing which remodeling projects to move forward on, look at those that will provide the most payback to you.
While resale is one thing, you’re comfort and enjoyment are another. Look for projects that will make your house warmer – such as replacement windows or insulation – or add style to a few areas.
Kitchen Remodeling Tips
If your kitchen is dated, but you’re not ready to take the plunge on a full scale kitchen remodeling, consider new wall tile, a sink and faucet or new flooring. Any of these projects will make an impact and can be completed by a contractor rather quickly. Paint is another great investment, whether you hire a contractor or do the work yourself.
In your bathroom, consider a new tile floor with electric heat underneath. This will take the chill out of the winter and give you a sense of luxury – without having to tear the room apart. An electrical contractor can do the heating portion if your tile or flooring contractor is not familiar with it.
Lighting also can make a big impact, even on a small budget. Try a pendant light over an island, puck or fluorescent lighting under the wall cabinets or canned lighting in your kitchen ceiling. You’ll be thankful for the extra visibility as you navigate around the countertop.
There are many ways to spruce up a home quickly or with a small budget. Look for a contractor that will work with you on finding those small projects that provide a big bang.
